This place is a fun experience for really tasty vegan food. I haven't tried the teff pancakes but the wheat ones are really fluffy. I wish I could leave a tip when I pay with my card!

This place is incredible! I stopped in to check it out and tried the beans and rice- delicious! Also, they mill their own flour and the crackers they make are awesome! Also tried the black eyed pea hummus. So happy about this little vegan shop.

Once you eat, and tour, here you will truly be able to knock something off of your culinary bucket list.

As several have noted, do not come here if you are in a hurry or inflexible with your entre decision. When you operate with one standard stove; one small sink; perform both head chef and sous chef functions; try to source your ingredients from local farmer's markets; and actually grind All of your own flours from organic grains or dried beans, not everything will be available all of the time... but you will be satisfied and both content and wiser for the whole experience.

I sampled a Tepary (vegan/bean) burger on a fresh-milled whole grain bun ($10.50) along with two different homemade cookies - one with oats and dates and the other with choc and pecans ($2 ea). Yes, generically speaking, these are high prices but not for these pilgrim-level origins, I mean, he grinds his own grains and flours to make entrees and cookies (which, by the way, are not listed on the online menu but are not to be missed). The cookies are made from the same wide variety of seasonal grains and he uses maple syrup, but applies less than half of the typical amount of sugar. This yields a noticeably less sweet cookie, but one that "feels" incredibly healthy, yet still compliments tea/coffee nicely.

The owner/chef showed me the grain room, next door, where he has several different mills and about a half-dozen-plus different grains or beans which he grinds (including the flour to make his noodles from scratch). Warning, if you should ask him any questions about the caf or the process, he'll patiently, methodically talk your ear off.

Seating is primarily outdoor/patio with modest/cushioned wrought iron picnic set ups. Drinks are mostly canned/bottled waters and seltzers ranging in price from $1 - $3 (6oz - 16 oz).
Curbside parking is ample and free, directly across the street from the entrance. I've posted pictures of the burger/cookie as well as the grain room (with Zinman and his permission :)

This is by far my favorite place, because of how genuine and down to earth it is. It is a place for people who like honesty, upfrontness, etc. instead of affectation.

Excellent, honest food. His place is an absolute jewel. I had the burger and a cookie--everything tasted fresh and homemade. Relaxed atmosphere and kind people. I'll definitely be back!

I had noodles for lunch made from local wheat ground and made right here! Simple, delicious, and healthy. Don't go if you are in a hurry, but relish some time on a beautiful patio in an iconic Tucson neighborhood!

We found Zinman's after searching on Yelp for vegan lunch options near University Ave. Zinman's lived up to its ratings. My non-vegan sister and I both loved our lunches. She had a Mediterranean style noodle plate and I had the Tepa Burger with smashed potatoes. Oh, and high praises for the coffee, too! Evidently, Zinman's is now offering delivery options to help patrons beat the desert heat at lunch time. Between the specials they run regularly and the delivery options, not to mention the locally sourced tepary bean recipes, you can't go wrong!

Simple but so delicious. This is a hidden gem. We loved sitting out on the garden patio. It was a perfect place for kids who have a hard time sitting still and the food was both healthy and delicious. Can't wait to visit again.

Staff was friendly and helpful, food is delicious, vegan and would definitely return. Happy there are more vegan options in town, let's support local businesses

We stopped by Zinman's on our road trip from Austin to San Diego. We stopped at every vegan place we could and Zinman's was my favorite. The menu changes daily and the variety from Ethiopian to Southern to Asian did not disappoint. The place is charming, clean and comfortable. We even brought our pooch to dine on the patio.

These are really amazing people. Very kind attentive and loving. I have followed their Rehabilitation of the building on Facebook. I really wanted to try the restaurant. It is vegetarian. I had the pancake with some blueberries which was good. The flower is freshly milled from local grown wheat. The pastries with fruit we're quite tasty.

The courtyard is a nice setting with lots of space to sit and enjoy your food. There is a water dispensing station so your dog can get a drink.
